There are three major components of motivation: autonomy, value and competence.
The first one is about feeling forced or unforced to do some activity. Psychologists Deci and Rayan discovered that the perception of autonomy prognosticates the amount of energy used in appointed aim. Moreover the researchers noticed that acting under compel is onerous unlike self-direction actions which gives a good deal of energy.
Second one is link with values. Undertake actions which are accordance with our beliefs is encouraging and cause larger engagement. It is important that value can be changed for instance by understanding how compelling particular action is and starting to appreciate it.
The last component is feeling competence. It is proved that there is a positive correlation between devoting time to some action and reach a sense of competence. What is more believing in your own competence cause that there is slight probability of giving up.
